About the Forum
An independent forum for the changing financial system
The Forum for Digital Finance & Regulation is an independent forum for people who work where finance, technology and law meet: lawyers, finance professionals, compliance teams and the regulators they deal with.
We follow new laws, licences and guidance as they appear and explain what they mean in practice. Our research is global, with a particular focus on South Asia.
Our readers include in-house counsel, private practice lawyers, compliance and risk teams, bankers, fund managers, fintech founders, policymakers and researchers.
Our mission
To help professionals understand and apply the rules changing finance, using careful research and plain explanation.
Our vision
A financial system where sound regulation supports innovation, stronger markets, inclusion and useful technological progress.
How we work
Our approach
Independent
We study policy questions through research and evidence, not advocacy for institutions or industries.
Interdisciplinary
Finance, law and technology are closely linked, so we study them together.
Evidence-based
We use laws, regulatory material, market data, academic research, international standards and industry experience.
Comparative
Financial regulation crosses borders. We compare developments in different countries and ask which lessons may be useful elsewhere.
Policy-oriented
We do more than identify problems. We also examine practical ways for policy and regulation to respond.
Accessible
People outside specialist circles should be able to understand complex financial, technology and regulatory issues.
